Method
- Cut the boneless skinless chicken breasts into uniform strips if needed.
- Sprinkle the chicken strips with salt.
- Crush the whole grain crackers into fine crumbs.
- Combine the cracker crumbs with sesame seeds, garlic powder, dried basil, dried oregano, paprika, black pepper, and any optional seasonings.
- Dip each chicken strip into the beaten egg until coated.
- Roll each strip in the crumb mixture and press gently so the coating adheres.
- Shake off any excess crumbs.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375–400°F.
- Arrange the coated chicken tenders in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overcrowding.
- Lightly spray the tenders with oil.
- Air fry for 10 minutes.
- Flip the chicken tenders and lightly spray the other side with oil.
- Air fry for another 10 minutes.
- Check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer and make sure the chicken reaches 165°F.
- Remove when golden brown, crispy, and fully cooked.
- For the optional honey mustard sauce, stir the mustard and honey together until smooth and serve alongside the chicken tenders.
