- Pat the cod fillets dry well with paper towels.
- Season both sides with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
- For extra flavor, optionally marinate the cod for up to 30 minutes with lemon juice, herbs, or olive oil with garlic.
- Let the seasoned cod rest for a few minutes before cooking.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F for about 5 minutes.
- Place the cod fillets in the air fryer basket without overcrowding.
- Air fry for 12–15 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillets.
- Check the internal temperature with a food thermometer and make sure the cod reaches 145°F.
- Remove the cod from the air fryer as soon as it is cooked through and flaky.
- Serve immediately with lemon wedges or fresh herbs if desired.
