Air Fryer Cod

Quick and easy air fryer cod made with fresh cod fillets and simple seasonings. The fish cooks at 400°F until tender, flaky, and lightly crisp outside.

Ingredients
  

  • Fresh cod fillets
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Garlic powder to taste
  • Paprika to taste
  • Lemon juice optional
  • Herb mix such as parsley, dill, or thyme; optional
  • Olive oil with garlic optional

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Paper towels
  • Food thermometer

Method
 

  1. Pat the cod fillets dry well with paper towels.
  2. Season both sides with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  3. For extra flavor, optionally marinate the cod for up to 30 minutes with lemon juice, herbs, or olive oil with garlic.
  4. Let the seasoned cod rest for a few minutes before cooking.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F for about 5 minutes.
  6. Place the cod fillets in the air fryer basket without overcrowding.
  7. Air fry for 12–15 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillets.
  8. Check the internal temperature with a food thermometer and make sure the cod reaches 145°F.
  9. Remove the cod from the air fryer as soon as it is cooked through and flaky.
  10. Serve immediately with lemon wedges or fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

Preheat Time: about 5 minutes.
Cook Time (full range): 12–15 minutes.
Optional Marinade Time: up to 30 minutes.
Air fryer temperature: 400°F.
Cod should reach an internal temperature of 145°F.
Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket.
Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
For reheating, use an air fryer at 350°F for about 5–7 minutes, or an oven at 350°F for 10–15 minutes.
