Crack Chicken Crock Pot

Creamy slow cooker crack chicken made with tender chicken, ranch seasoning, bacon, and cream cheese. An easy family-style meal that shreds easily and stays rich and creamy.

Ingredients
  

  • Boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Ranch seasoning
  • Pre-cooked bacon crumbled
  • Cream cheese softened or cubed
  • Shredded cheddar optional
  • 1/4-1/2 cup chicken broth optional
  • Green onions optional

Equipment

  • 4–6 quart slow cooker
  • Tongs
  • Two forks
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Silicone spatula
  • Instant-read thermometer

Method
 

  1. Pat the chicken dry and season lightly with salt and black pepper.
  2. Place the chicken in the slow cooker and sprinkle ranch seasoning over it.
  3. Add the crumbled bacon and any optional add-ins.
  4. Add 1/4–1/2 cup chicken broth if extra moisture is needed.
  5. Cook on LOW for 4–6 hours, or HIGH for 2–3 hours.
  6. Check that the chicken reaches 165°F.
  7. About 20–30 minutes before serving, add the cream cheese and optional shredded cheddar.
  8. Remove the chicken and shred it with two forks.
  9. Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker and stir until the sauce is smooth.
  10. Garnish with green onions and extra bacon if desired.

Notes

Cook Time on LOW: 4–6 hours.
Alternative HIGH setting: 2–3 hours.
Add cream cheese during the final 20–30 minutes.
Chicken must reach 165°F.
Refrigerate leftovers for 3–4 days.
Freeze for up to 3 months.
